We need your help
After 10 years of dedicated voluntary service our Chairman is stepping down. With much of our Green Belt under threat, now more than ever the Green Belt Society needs volunteers to step forwards and help us protect our green spaces.
The Chairman plays a crucial role in representing the Green Belt, understanding our challenges and leading us forwards in the challenge against over development.
Key responsibilities
- To act as the representative and principal spokesperson for the society, liaising with other Green Belt organisations as appropriate
- Chairing meetings of the Committee and reporting to members at the AGM
- To play a leading role in developing the Society’s responses to central and local government consultations and local planning issues
- Works with the Secretary and Treasurer to maintain awareness of the Society’s constitution and legal responsibilities and ensures that the Society has appropriate policies
- Supports society officers and encourage the committee to work well together.
If you think you have the time, local knowledge and the commitment to help lead us, please contact; secretary@northmymmsgreenbelt.org.uk where we can give you more information on the role and an opportunity to meet with the previous chairman.
